China has Built a 250-Acre Solar Farm Shaped Like a Giant Panda

We all love pandas, don’t we? They are one of the cutest creations to have walked the face of this earth. Naturally, people find it interesting to design certain things and inventions to look like a panda to make it attractive to people of all ages. Similarly, a new solar power plant situated in Datong, China has taken this idea and implemented it on their solar panels. As opposed to the traditional setup of a long set of rows and columns of panels, this plant placed their panels to follow the design of a Panda. The panels are laid out across an area of 248 acres.

This ambitious project is one of the biggest operators of clean and green energy and their first phase was completed on the 30th of June which includes a 50-megawatt plant. A second panda is in the talks and should be established by later this year. Such a humungous plant dealing with clean and renewable energy has a lot of promising outlook in the field of energy consumption and reduction of carbon emission. This particular plant, which has been nicknamed the Panda Power Plant has postulated that it would be able to produce roughly 3.2 billion kilowatt-hours of solar energy in 25 years. Such a power output would nullify the need for coal plants thereby sparing the use of millions of tons of coal and in turn, suppress the harmful carbon emission by 2.74 million tons.

This project has become a benchmark in the field of clean energy generation and consumption. Made possible by the combined efforts of the China Merchants New Energy Group and the United Nations Development Program, the Panda Power Plant stands tall and as a symbol of hope for the distressed souls who believe that humans are dooming the planet to the brink of annihilation. In a statement released by the UNDP, it said that the Panda Plant was a way to imbue in the minds of the youth of China the importance and usage of clean energy and how it is quintessential to look into alternative sources of energy in order to sustain life on Earth.

In short, the Panda Power Plant is a source of renewed hope for the people of China and in general, people all around the world. It is an example as to what is possible when humans pool their resources and intellect together in order to achieve their goals. The Panda Plant has begun supplying certain towns in China with clean energy and has already managed to lower carbon emission and fallout by a considerable amount. Eliminating the use of the traditional and wasteful coal-based methods is the need of the hour and thus it is important that we must look into different ways to circumvent the problems.
